Data we collect

When you contact us, submit a company, approach us about an acquisition or partnership, or otherwise engage with Nexus Fusion, we may collect information you provide including your name, email, telephone number, organisation, company and ownership information, website, sector, location, business and fundraising information, messages, and documents or pitch materials you choose to upload or link.

We also process limited technical and security information such as IP address, user agent, request path, time, abuse-prevention signals and, only after the relevant visitor choice, optional website analytics.

Public-source opportunity research

Nexus Fusion researches companies, founders, builders, projects and emerging opportunities. We may obtain professional information from public or third-party sources such as company and project websites, public professional profiles, repositories, institutional publications, accelerator or university material, public demonstrations and reputable reporting. This can include a person's name, professional location, public professional links, role, project history and evidence relevant to opportunity research.

We do not treat public availability as permission for unrestricted collection. Research is limited to a defined business purpose, source provenance is retained, access is restricted, and we seek to avoid unnecessary sensitive or private information. We do not use the public website to make solely automated investment or founder-worthiness decisions.

Purposes and lawful bases

We process data to respond to enquiries; evaluate potential investments, partnerships, acquisitions and company-building opportunities; perform due diligence and opportunity research; maintain business relationships; operate and secure the website; prevent abuse; maintain necessary records; and, where you choose it, measure website usage.

Depending on the activity, processing may rely on steps requested before a contract, performance of a contract, legitimate interests, consent, or a legal obligation. Where Nexus relies on legitimate interests for research, it applies a necessity and balancing assessment and appropriate safeguards. Where consent is the basis, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.

Analytics and tracking choices

Optional Vercel Web Analytics is not loaded until you accept analytics through the privacy-choice panel. Declining does not prevent ordinary use of the public website. Your analytics choice is stored locally on your device. You can change that choice from the Cookies page. We do not currently use advertising or retargeting pixels.

Processors and international transfers

We use service providers to operate the site and business systems, including Vercel (hosting, content delivery and optional Web Analytics), Supabase (database, storage and authentication infrastructure), Resend (transactional email delivery), and Cloudflare (DNS and domain/email infrastructure). We may also use authorised CRM and business-service providers when a relationship is pursued. Processing can occur outside Nigeria. Nexus assesses applicable contractual, security and cross-border-transfer requirements and limits provider access to what is needed for the service.

Sharing

Personal data may be shared with authorised Nexus personnel and processors that need it for the purposes above, professional advisers where necessary, and authorities where required by law. We do not sell personal data or build advertising audiences from founder submissions.

Retention

We retain personal data only while reasonably necessary for its documented purpose, legal obligations, dispute handling and legitimate business records. Research records are periodically reviewed for continued necessity. Where data is no longer needed, it is deleted, anonymised or archived where a lawful reason requires retention. Different records have different schedules rather than a single indefinite retention period.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request information about or access to your personal data, correction, restriction, erasure, portability, object to processing, withdraw consent, and request human intervention concerning qualifying automated decisions. You may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. Send requests to hello@nexusfusionhq.com; we may proportionately verify identity before disclosing or changing data.

Security and incidents

We use access controls, server-side validation, rate limiting, restricted service credentials and database security controls appropriate to our systems. No internet service is risk-free. We assess suspected personal-data incidents and make notifications where applicable law requires them.

Children and sensitive information

The site is not directed at children. Do not submit sensitive personal information unless it is genuinely necessary and requested through an appropriate process. Our opportunity-research process is designed to avoid unnecessary sensitive or private information.

Changes

We update this notice when our processing materially changes. The effective date appears above.
